White linen short length drop waist dress, circa 1910s- 1920s, likely for sporting such as tennis. Wide set neckline, faux placket with twelve shell buttons and lace edge trim. Rectangular petal details with lace trim edge the neckline with three on each cap sleeve.Subtle seamed detailing along the hips allow for a side pleat. Slash pockets at lower hips- still stitched closed, though easily opened if desired. Lightweight weave with natural slub- a bit soft for all linen, possibly a blend.

Condition is very, very good- there is a smattering of dark marks on the front right shoulder, as shown. Very wearable and solid, exceedingly well preserved. A really lovely antique dress, suitable for lawn parties or as a casual wedding dress.
