vintage MCM walnut magazine rack wood basket 1960s decor
Beautiful walnut finish Mid- Century Modern magazine rack, in the style of Arthur Umanoff and his pieces for Washington Woodcraft, circa 1960s vintage.
Exaggerated ovular shape with curved top trim, a total of 22 dowel style spindles secure contents.
The bottom is a lighter/ unfinished wood and may in fact be a type of Japanese maple, as can be seen in the grain.
Weighty and very well made; I am including two photos of the mark on the bottom- the faded is of the actual mark on the basket, the crisper version (of the same mark) was found online.
Condition is very good or better- wood is smooth, with subtle sheen. Minimal dings, presents beautifully.
