MOD vintage 1960s cut out dress L'Aiglon white sleeveless sheath / trompe l'oeil embroidery
White woven fabric L'Aiglon dress with über- MOD cut outs and aqua trompe l'oeil embroidery, circa 1960s vintage. Round neckline and armholes are banded in solid white, the rest of the dress has circular pattering with six cut outs per- all edged in aqua thread, creating an overlap effect. Darting at the bust, slightly tapered fit at the waist, A- lined to the hem. Hidden zip up the back. Content isn't noted- looks and feels like a rayon / linen blend, with some natural slubs.
Condition is very good- slightest discoloration along the banding at the underarms- though I doubt this has been worn beyond tried on. Hem is pinned up- and there is lace hem trim- a hem is needed but that allows you to determine the length! The spaces are small enough that a bra and underwear could suffice if you're daring. A really unusual and edgy design for L'Aiglon- such a cool piece!
5" across the shoulders, 42" chest (21" armpit to armpit), 40" waist (20" across). 44" hips (22" across), 50" hem circumference (25" across), 42" overall length (at current pinned length, with 1.5" of additional hem currently pinned up)
