1960s chic vintage copper houndstooth Florian sheath dress bow back XS
Copper and soft black abstract paintbrush houndstooth print sheath dress by Florian of Cleveland, circa early 1960s vintage. Funnel neckline, top seamed short sleeves. Streamlined bodice to three band width cummerbund waist detail. Slight pleating at front lower waist to allow for fulness through hips, straight fit to the hem. Covered metal zip up the back center, three detail does at the back cummerbund detail. Waistline and most of the skirt length are backed (prior to construction) in black acetate. Outer fabric has a silken look and sheen but is likely acetate, or a nylon/ acetate blend. Tagged size 9/10, please confirm below- measures to a modern US 0- 2 or smallish 4, based on build.
Condition is very, very good- there is a very small repair on the right underarm, as shown- a total of five visible whip stitches and holding. Very minor strain to the underarm fabric- no fading or discoloration, only noted for accuracy. The black print is a soft black, but not quite a darkest brown- very graphic MCM!
This über- chic 60s day dress is decidedly modern and ladylike. Very fresh, clean, and ready to wear!
