red silk chiffon John Anthony dress / 1970s vintage / tiered skirt / bow neck XS - S
Bright crimson red silk chiffon dress with three tier knife pleat skirt by John Anthony, circa 1970s vintage.
High neck bodice is three ply silk chiffon, the inner layer is a bit tailored with darting, the outer two are not. Set in full length sleeves are two ply, with hidden snaps at wrists. Fold over mock neck and self tie at left neck are multi- layer chiffon.
Tiered skirt is three long single ply, pleated layers of chiffon, attached to one base layer of unpleated chiffon.
Hidden zip up the back center, interior grosgrain ribbon reinforces waistline seam. As can be seen on the white fiberglass mannequin, dress is a bit translucent, especially when flash is involved.
Dress is beautifully finished both inside and out. Condition is very good to excellent- there are a couple of exceedingly minor marks and snags from handling- not surprising given the material; dress appears unworn.
