vintage 1950s emerald green wiggle dress Lee Claire Brocade suit bolero jacket M - L
Stunning bright emerald green brocade dress and matching jacket by Lee Claire, circa late 1950s - very early 1960s.
Oversized paisley brocade print.
Of amazing quality!
The dress has cap length sleeves and a wide set V- neckline with gathers along the front bust.
Wiggle shape, fullest at the hips and tapered to the hem.
Hidden metal zip up the back center.
Fully lined in what looks and feels like Bamberg rayon- though may be a rayon/ silk blend.
The cropped jacket has elbow length sleeves.
Portrait collar overlays the dress neckline perfectly.
Two button front- buttons are covered in matching brocade.
A few hidden hook and eye closures as well.
Fully lined in blue satin, with weights sewn into the front hem corners for proper drape.
the jacket has a "Miller Brothers Importers, Baltimore" label
the dress has a "Lee Claire New York" white label as well as a ILGWU label dating this between 1955- 1963.
Lee Claire, Inc. style and size tag- if I'm reading this properly, "85696" refers to Fall 1956 production, tagged size 14.
Condition is excellent, save for a very small smudge on the back left sleeve, as shown in the fourth photo.
Appears very seldom worn and exceptionally well cared for- no other issues, seam straining, etc.
Fresh and ready to debut!
for handy reference- the mannequin shown has a 32.5" chest, 24" waist and 35" hips- this is a bit big on "her" - shown unpinned.
