Deep, cognac brown alligator framed box handbag by Saks Fifth Avenue, circa late 1950s to early 1960s vintage. Two top carry handles with gold tone hardware, matching top edge clasp at center body. Full sized outer slash pockets on both sides for easy access. Main compartment has alligator wrapped frame. Leather lined, with four interior slash pockets- one with a zip closure. Gold embossed "Saks Fifth Avenue" on the interior. Alligator panels are glossy and beautifully matched front and back, as well as along the sides. Two main body panels are unsealed, with larger scales at the center and belly scales off to the sides. Seamed only along the bottom center panel and up the side panels. Four metal feet protect the bottom.
Condition is excellent, showing minimal signs of wear / use. Light fading to the goldstone metal hardware, which has mellowed- some of which has etched patterning, as shown. The alligator hides are glossy and supple.The tiniest bit of creasing to the sides due to the natural scales, no lifting or losses. Also, the slightest bit of edge wear to the bottom corners. Leather interior is exceedingly clean- odor free. A classic shape and larger size- this high quality bag presents beautifully and has another lifetime of enjoyment ahead!

While the mannequin has slightly wide arms at the shoulder given attachment points, this beauty will fit onto the shoulder of a smaller frame comfortably
